Cali Boys - Green Team
Cali Green (1st Year Prep)
Program Purpose
This phase serves as a bridge from training to real game application. Athletes begin translating individual skills into live basketball environments where decision-making, structure, and performance all matter.
Key Differences
Introduction to structure
- Players learn core concepts such as spacing, pace, and defined roles within a team setting.
Development still leads—but performance matters
- Growth remains the priority, but execution in game situations becomes a key focus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
We track progress through:
Decision-Making Under Pressure
- Turnover rate in live play
Offensive Efficiency
- Shot selection quality
Defensive Reliability
- Positioning consistency
Development Barometers
We assess readiness and growth through:
Competing Up
- Can the player hold their own against older or stronger competition?
Game Awareness
- Do they instinctively understand spacing and positioning without constant instruction?
Coachability in Action
- Are they able to absorb feedback and apply it in real-time during live play?
