Cali Boys - Development Team
D-Program (Grade 8 – Pre-Prep Development)
Purpose
This program is designed as a foundation-building phase, focused on long-term athlete development rather than traditional team basketball. The emphasis is on skill acquisition and developing overall athletic literacy—giving players the tools they need to succeed at higher levels.
Key Differences
High repetition, low system complexity
- Players get more touches, more reps, and more opportunities to improve.
High tolerance for mistakes
- Errors are part of the learning process and are encouraged as a pathway to growth.
Teaching pace over winning
- Development and understanding take priority over game results.
